I read that Audi is very fussy about what type of wax used. Polymer based wax causes cloudy appearance. Read that only Canuba based wax used. Audi dealer said to use Zymol because it is formulated for German paint.
Any suggestions? Thanks, Phil

Thats a load of crap, for what its worth. Zymol isn't formulated for German paint, and polymer waxes don't cloud the paint. Hands down, the best you can use on your Audi is Zaino, at www.zainobros.com. Zaino is a bit of a pain though. Its easy to get on and off, but takes a long time, to get best results you need a handful of coats of it. Nothing touches a good Zaino job though.

Unless you use Pinnacle Souveran. Put on the car and wipe it off wet for a deep, wet finish like no other. It is probably the best car care product I've ever used. And some of the folks can attest to the finish on my black car looking pretty darn good (no mods so I need to get looks somehow ) But, at $70 per can of wax, it may be too BLING BLING for some Worth every penny IMO, and I'm not even a big baller like S4MadMan ;D

Al, I also have a black S4. I'm a nut about the shine so I would be willing to spend the $, if i can see the difference. I am using McGuires Canuba now. I read about Zaino but the overnight drying etc. seems to be a pain in the ass. I enjoy spending a few hours waxing the car and cranking the stereo, relaxes me, like some people like gardening I guess.
The othe problem with the Zaino is I have to remove the previous wax which makes me start all over again, can I put Pinnacle on existing wax? Where can I get Pinnacle? Thanks, Phil P.S. do you have the APR chip, that's next for me.

here. www.properautocare.com/index.htmlThey also have great instruction articles on detailing. They recommend that you use the Pinnacle Paintwork Cleansing Lotion prior to the Souveran wax. BTW, the Meguiars has worked well for me too in the past.

Griots Best of Show. I love it.
You could ask those that saw my Laser Red A4 at the aftermarket shows, or the folks that run the timing booth at the Boston area BMW Autocross what they think.
I got some for my son who drives a black Tacoma and is probably more anal than I about his ride. He used on it and later his wifes black Discovery. He said nothing ever brought out the shine like it. Of course he also polished them beforehand with Griots machine polish.

A couple of weekends ago we had a wax faceoff against all the big guns (unfortunately Zaino was excluded). We did have a Zaino-ed car there though. Let me just say Soveran rocks. Followed by all things - Collinite. I did our blue Boxster with this stuff and it looks great. We did a red Boxster with Soveran/ Zymol carbon/ Blitz and P21S. Both cars were prepped with P21S paintwork cleanser.
The waxes were preferred in decending order:
Soveran Collinite Blitz P21S Zymol
For the record the Zaino-ed car did look awesome.
This weekend it'll be 3M Imperial Hand Glaze and the P21S polish and then Collinite Carnuba on the S4. Tired arms......
Oh and those clay bars are awesome. I'm sold.

I am planning to wax my car this weekend - got it about a month ago.
From what I have been reading - Silver is a sort of a hard color to appreciate when waxed. It doesn't have the depth of a dark color....
Anyway, any Silver Metallic owner's have any suggestions?

experience with it, the Pinnacle Paste Glaz is supposed to be good on light colored cars. Definately use a paint cleanser first and possibly a clay bar if your paintwork has any roughness to it.

It's the least I could do in return for all of your advice! I'll throw a coat on your rig if you ever get those rims! ...you two Wax Nerds! Pinnacle Souveran and Zaino it is! Thanks for Wax Job 901 class. ;D
