You take the peak HP the Adrenalin dyno gives you (in my case, 104.1HP) and subtract it from the number Audi gives. That's how much HP you lost to the drivetrain/less than ideal conditions/charity. To make that a %loss, just divide it by Audi's number (in my case 150). Thus, for my car, you end up with: (150-104.1) = .306 = 30.6% 150 You do realize, of course, that calculating driveline loss as a fixed percentage is only good for a rough estimate, right? The % lost varies with RPM as well as HP, so you're really only getting a ballpark figure. ...please give me some formulas/calculations. I just used a 25% loss but if you think 30% is more accurate for the Adrenalin Dyno...cool! ;D

...I know what you are talking about. However, in my case, I cannot (as accurately as you) use your formula because there are only estimates for my hp numbers: 330 to 360hp. Still, it's a good ball park. I was just looking for your formula, thanks. Based on the data I derived from the cars tested at Adrenalin's Dyno Day for WRXs a few month's ago, I think a happy media is 28% drivetrain loss (for Adrenalin's Dyno). It's probably a bit conservative but it's better that way. So all you S4 people, use 28%. So the formula would be: #hp you get divided by .72. For example XR8edS4 got 246 with just the Abt ECU and VM2 exhaust on 93 gas last time. Then his approximate HP at the crank would be 246/.72 = 342hp. That sounds about right. Thanks Jeff. Hope to see ya on Saturday. 8) You take the peak HP the Adrenalin dyno gives you (in my case, 104.1HP) and subtract it from the number Audi gives. I might not be there Saturday. Wagner gave me a call yesterday and said it would take 2-3 days for them to get a cat, so my car probably won't be done by Saturday. The only way I can get there is if some kind soul doesn't mind taking a 3 minute detour to WPI...... What I'm wondering if wtf doesn't Wagner stock cats? It seems like a pretty basic part to have. Heck, if I had taken the car to a random exhaust shop, the car would have been fixed the same day.

I think I'll try and make it out to Adrenaline. Haven't been around for any of the previous GTG's because I've been traveling so much lately (my S4 only has 3k miles since I picked it up in November! )
Has anyone dyno'd a bone-stock S4? Are all 10 dyno spots are taken for tomorrow?
Jeff

...on Adrenalin's Dyno, stock S4s will get between: 175-185hp. Then you take that and divide it by .72 or a 28% drivetrain loss. So 180hp/.72 =250hp. Has anyone dyno'd a bone-stock S4? Are all 10 dyno spots are taken for tomorrow? Jeff
