of ownership in which I frequented Boston and NYC, I bent an AVUS wheel...happened on the BQE(Broken-assed queens expressbreakmyrimsway) down in NY...the pothole was amazingly hard, never hit anything like it before...i never saw the bastad coming riht at me!
Anyway, i want to ask you all for help. Where and how much would it cost to get a rim re-rounded and fixed up in the area? IS it worth it? And will the wheel be a lot weaker than before? The non round part is about an 3/4 of an inch long if you look at the inside of the rim. My P6000 bubbled up with the best of them (bubble was friggin 1.5 inches long).

...I have one AVUS wheel for *cough* sale. ;D In all seriousness, D-Win, sorry for your misfortune but considering 16 months of brutal roads, you did quite well. Fixing the wheel is quite expensive, you might as well purchase my spare. Please take a picture of the damage and post it, otherwise it's hard to determine whether it's fixable. Thanks.

S4MadMan is right, fixing a wheel generally doesn't pay off unless the wheel is worth some serious bucks. Figure $160 - $250 minimum for it. (I damaged one of my Avus wheels, mostly cosmetic, and a small chunk taken out of the lip and they quoted me $160, without any work to "reround" the wheel)

...$250 - $300, I can't remember whether I have a good or bad tire. If good tire: $300, if bad tire: $250. I believe the wheel is perfect, like new. I gotta go check. Also, can you e-mail me with the price you are willing to part withyour stock spare for? thanks!
