I called Clair for my 5k service appointment and they asked me "when I'd like to come in". That's a first, I'm used to "well we can get you in 3-4 weeks". So in it goes next week. I've got a fairly long list of things to check:
Basic 5k service Brakes sound like sh*t, sounds like pieces of sandpaper rubbing together Broken nav knob Sub makes a very odd noise from outside the car wipers need to swapped - sucked from the beginning windshield wiper fluid jets need to be re-aimed car (engine bay) makes a strange tapping/clicking noise under normal acceleration in 1-2 gears between 2-3k rpms. MadMan - you know this one, you heard it.
Other than that I REALLY love my S4 Avant. Except for the annoying clicking noise, these are mostly nits and will be fixed.

Only a one week wait? Daaaaaamn, you must have connections! Oh, I have a fix for all those problems you are having: Turn the volume control knob 720 degrees clockwise. P.S. Yeah, that clicking noise is really there, some thing's loose. I called Clair for my 5k service appointment and they asked me "when I'd like to come in". Isn't it great Rey? I called them to get my "rocking chair" (driver's side seat) as well as "hamster wheel noise" (fan behind climate control module) fixed, and they gave me a date for Feb. 7th! I couldn't speak! The lady asked me if I was ok! I just replied that I didn't expect to get the appointment for such an early date. I inquired about getting a loaner, and she said that the earliest opening was on Feb. 13th. Still not bad! I'm impressed. Let's hope they keep up the good work, as well as the good service they've given me so far.

Something is going on.. I just got a card yesterday saying the Radio I have been waiting 6 month for is in, and that I can go in Tuesday, the 12th to get this all taken care of...!!!!! WHOAAAA Maybe AoA is finally stepping up and making some changes. hahahahah I don't think so.. I just think its cold and no one wants to be outside.. It will probably get worse when it starts getting warm.. Enjoy it now!

Yesterday I sent an e-mail to Tom Shanahan, the service manager, with some questions about my S4 and he called me back last night!
Also, he confirmed that they stock Mobil 1 0W-30 and that they use it in the 2002 S4s, since it is recommended in the manual.

Oh and to all the people who saw it at the last GTG.... they liked the stereo :-)

with the number of miles I put on the car I won't be needing another oil change until next year! Well probably very late this year.

Must be nice Rey.. I will be out of my warranty in 13000 miles... Only got one more service left. Then I start doing mobil 1 on my own every 5000 miles. Which for me is almost every 3 months..

Dude, I got my car in August and have already put 7k on it, plus it was in the shop for a month. And with that Dorito you've got, you can put twice as many miles on in half the time! ;D ...and I don't drive enough. Purchased my S4...ahhh...8 months ago and I only have 5,800 miles on it.
