This happens when accellerating lightly from about 2100-2200 rpm. Dunno, maybe just the winter weather has me nit picking, or maybe its just that my car was dismantled in order to fix an oil leak... Ah well, at least thats been fixed now. 30k service, here I come!
Also, does the car always tell you how many miles to the next service when you first start up the car and put it into gear? Never saw this before, just checking my sanity....
TIA

No: I have not felt any vibration in 5th gear, but I'm sure to check it out this week while driving. I take it you mean while driving with Tip engaged!
No: When my car starts up it does not tell me how many miles to the next service. Maybe I've not been paying attention. Will check that out as well.
There is always the possibility that you may be going insane,...or your S4! Just kidding there...but I'll check both things tomorrow and post updates.

After testing out the machinery this morning, the answers still are no and no!
No: it does not vibrate; neither with Tip engaged or disengaged.
No: it is not warning me about miles to next service; I already take good care of her as is, so if she starts warning me, she will feel as if she is nagging; that's all I'd need right now...another nagging female in my life! (yes...it's a SHE)

Thanks guys. I'll now be sure to bring this up at my 30k service this Thursday. Heck, maybe I should call ahead and ask for a rental....
