Hey everyone. I'm thinking of upgrading the exhaust on my 98 2.8 What do you guys recommend, or use on the 2.8 I have been looking into Brullen, and Stebro lately. I also don't want anything loud. Just need to narrow it down to 1 or 2 to make a choice.
thanks

Brullen is nice.. Remus is also a good alternative. Stembro, I don't know anyone with one, but they have been in the business for a long time, tuning the older audis. Borla also is talked about quite a bit. Really I would run a search on Audi world, there has been so many discussion on this subject on there, I am pretty sure you can get a good feel for what you want there.. I have an exhuast ready to go, but I am waiting on S4MadMan to tell me what he wants to do!!!!!

Aside from quiet, what else do you want from an exhaust? What price range are you looking for? The look of the exhaust tips, how much does it matter?
I first defined what I wanted from an exhaust, and the price range I was willing to go with, that made my decision much easier.
I wanted clean and phatter looking tips. Something that would fill up the bumper cut-out almost fully! My price range was up to $1500 not including installation. I wanted a good fit, nothing that would require major work. I also wanted slightly deeper tone then what I was getting from stock exhaust, but definitely not abnoxious loud!
Scorpion is what I settled for, and I know that anything else wouldn't have satisfied me better! It was the perfect choice for me.
You also have to think about the product manufacturing job! Certainly more expensive does not necessarily mean better product always, but it can translate into a better product usually!

I totaly agree. I would rather pay a higher price for the quality. It is a concern for me. I'm in the $600-$700 price range and I can do the install. As far as appearance, I would like the dual round look, even a slash cut wouldn't be bad. Just something clean non-ghetto! I, like anyone else, would also like something with a decent power upgrade also. I've had many different exhausts on other cars, so I know there is nothing huge to expect, but there certainly are differences. Being fully stainless steel is something I'm also looking for. And I forgot about Scorpion. My friend has it on his VR6, and it sounds great. Do you have any pictures you could email me of how that looks?

Borla for that price range. You can get a Borla for probably $400 to $450 new.
