I enjoyed 2 full hours of Quattro play time before my first final today. What a great way to ease the nerves. :-)
I'm going snowboarding Thursday if anyone wants to join me.

I'm headed up to Okemo Thursday (only $29!), going to try to do some demoing and take a lesson on shaped skis. Might even break out the new boards if the conditions are decent. Where are you headed?

I was originally thinking Killington, but Okemo is much cheaper, so that's the decision maker for me. I'm hoping Okemo has the bottom beginner section open so I can give my carving board a shot. Apparently it's going to ride so differently from everything else I've ridden that I should start out on the beginner slopes before I even try the chairlift (!).
Where are you leaving from?

Yeah, $29 is hard to beat. I don't think I've ever skied Okemo (if I have it's been so long I don't remember it). But here's an excerpt from today's ski report:
For today, we have 21 trails including Rimrock, Sapphire, & Jolly Green Giant. That mean's we have 7 1/2 miles of terrain, including terrain for all ability levels, with 6 lifts in operation. We also have some terrain features on Sapphire including some hits and rails.
Checked the trail map and whats open and some of the bottom beginner's area is open. I'm leaving from Bridgewater (not looking forward to the drive). What about you?

I'll am on call this week/end, so I won't be able to join you fine fellas. I now have changed my cast to a soft removable one, and have gained considerable wrist movement. Hoping to hit the slopes as soon as possible. Now, if it would only snow alot in the mountains...

I'm leaving from Framingham. If you see a silver A4 1.8TQ with a Yak Yak and Audiworld plate frames, that's me. And if you see a nutcase with a black & blue Northface jacket, black gortex pants, a black helmet, and black & blue goggles riding a burton race board, that's also me.

Cool, I'll be in a Silver A4 1.8T with BU plateframe, and 15" steel wheels (all black, no hub caps). Up there I'll be wearing a blue Descente Jacket and pants, and blue gloves, and either big black glasses or black Oakley goggles (depending on the weather) and maybe a black wool ski hat (again depending on the weather) on either long straight Rosignol 4SK's (green and hacked) or Atomic Beta 9.20's (red and shiney) if the cover is really good. I emailed you with my cell number if you want to try to touch base that way.
They're predicting snow tomorrow...perfect!

Rodney,
It was nice meeting you at Okemo, however brief it was. As soon as we seperated, the board and I just 'clicked,' and I was ripping turns like you wouldn't believe! I was dragging my elbow on some turns. Oh man, these race boards are addictive :-)
Did you end up switching to the Atomics? I thought the snow was great - at the very least it was great for my board :-)
So when in the BAG snow trip?

;D I should be in the area!
I'm going to be running errands all day, and then going out to see "The Tree" at the Pru in the evening. After that, I should be free.
We should get the leftover (those that aren't skiing) people together for a beer or something, like you suggested.

Jeff,
Good meeting you too. Always nice to put faces to names. Yeah, I skied all day and broke the Atomics out in the PM. I was really amazed at the conditions (I wasn't expecting much, so it was a nice surprise). Glad to hear things went well with the new board, would have loved to see you ripping with it, went down to the bottom a couple of times to see if I could spot you guys, but didn't. The new skis are amazing, very different though and it's going to take some getting used to, but I could really feel when I got it right. Anyway, here's hoping that this is the start if another long season.
Yeah, what's happening with the BAG trip? NY has one going.
